About this role

In this role you’ll be providing strategic content direction for client lead-generation campaigns and online assets. You’ll be your clients’ trusted adviser in how to use content to achieve their marketing and customer service objectives while leading and developing  your team of internal copywriters and freelancers in the detailed planning and delivery of engaging and purposeful copy. You will be an expert in understanding how to switch tone of voice for different B2B audiences, and tailor content to the challenges of individual personas.

Our inbound marketing and HubSpot business is growing fast with new client wins and an expanding portfolio of services. That’s why we are now looking for a Head of Content whose ambition matches ours and who has the skill and drive to make ours the go-to content marketing agency for tech, manufacturing and professional service businesses.

The Role

  • Leading our inbound and website content delivery team to create engaging, high-value, conversion-driven content across our inbound client portfolio.
  • Providing the content team with clear leadership, direction and training while motivating and inspiring a positive working culture.
  • Contributing to new and existing client pitches, providing strategies and content insights.
  • Reviewing current processes and optimise team performance.
  • Contributing to monthly reports and working with other Heads of Department to ensure accurate resourcing planning.
  • Managing the workloads of the content team to meet internal and client deadlines
  • Leading workshop discovery sessions (including persona development), and briefing sessions with senior stakeholders at our clients.
  • Planning, researching, and creating detailed inbound content plans based upon Consultant briefs for campaign themes, personas, USPs, and buying journeys.
  • Maintaining quality control across all inbound content including the amends process liaising with clients, marketing consultants and the content team. (internal and freelance)
  • Building our team and supporting the training and development of junior copywriters. 

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience creating high-value content in a B2B marketing context, such as long-form blogs, ebooks,editorial piecesand video scripts.
  • Exceptional journalistic skills, including researching and interviewing
  • A desire to keep on top of the latest trends in digital content
  • Experience in managing a team of copywriters
  • Proven track record in a client facing environment, advising clients on the use of content in their business, winning the trust of client experts and senior managers
  • Multiple plate spinner

These things would give you an advantage
A good working knowledge of the inbound methodology ideally with HubSpot qualifications

Experience in any of the following sectors: industrial, technology, or professional services
