UKWA is the leading trade association for companies that provide warehousing and logistics services in the UK. Roger Williams and the UKWA board were committed to both consolidating the position of the association by attracting new members and delivering measurable member benefits.
axongarside recommended a new website, designed to create new sales opportunities for the association’s members, a platform to improve communication between the geographically dispersed membership and a greatly enhanced revenue stream for the association.
The new site includes the kind of social media features that most large companies are still yet to deploy with an interactive forum and a variety of blogs and RSS feeds. axongarside built a bespoke search facility which allows users to search for UKWA members by geography and specialisation. The engine was built with particular emphasis on being search engine friendly so that its pages would attract buyers and so create new sales opportunities for members.
One feature of the site which was not in UKWA’s brief but which is particularly valued by the association is the facility which allows trade advertisements to be married with relevant page content. This feature of axongarside’s content management system, axongarside.cms, increases advertisement relevance and has led to a sharp increase in advertising revenues.
