There has been much talk about Wordpress over the last 12 months. Many people see the latest version as representing a significant advance for developers and users, in particular in the area of search marketing.

As we always put the security and robustness of the sites that we build at the forefront of our thinking, we have adopted a measured approach to this fast-developing open source platform. We have used Wordpress to provide a rapid development solution for specific one-off requirements such as event registration sites. That said there is no doubt that it is gaining in popularity and in the right circumstances can be a useful addition to the developer’ kitbag.
Vet-one is a small but fast growing software company operating in a competitive sector: Speed of development and the ability to constantly and rapidly change to meet new requirements were at a premium for this project. We have found Wordpress to be a good fit in similar circumstances in the recent past, with relatively unknown companies enjoying high levels of natural search traffic and leads from sites developed on this platform. The Vet-one site was launched very quickly and on-budget and initial signs are that it is working well in terms of attracting relevant site visits and conversions. The site has a number of templates from software features to demonstration areas and enquiry forms which together have helped boost the return on Vet-One’s investment.
